Did Your Pumpkin Turn into a Carriage?
Reena Koitla is an artist from Pärnu, her third solo exhibition brings you works created to reflect on fairytale love. The paintings are in different colours and based on different ideas, but they are united by a common handwriting. The paintings are done in acrylic, a favourite technique of the artist. The author does not wish to categorise the paintings into any particular artistic movement or frame them in any way. Everything in the painting is as the observer wishes to see it.
Reena has been painting more intensively since 2009 and later studied painting and drawing during her studies in interior design. Often, she creates works that fit well into the client’s interior.
“The exhibition ‘Did Your Pumpkin Turn into a Carriage?’ invites reflection on falling in love and love itself. Have love stories with happy endings become, for us women, merely tales told by fairy tales since childhood or do they also become reality in real life?”
“I try not to let other people influence me during the process of making a painting, otherwise it’s no longer my work and at least when I’m painting I can feel completely free,” explains Reena.
You can find the exhibition on the 2nd floor of the building from 17 June, ask the receptionist for more information!
Enjoy!
